Hockey Community Comes together donate over 1,000 lbs. of Food

A heartfelt thank you to everyone that helped us with our Fourth Annual Hockey Helps the Hungry Food Drive. We donated over 1,000 lbs of food to the Connecticut Food Bank! Through the work of our team managers and coaches, we dedicated nine games to the cause in which our opponents rallied around the food drive and expanded the program to the broader hockey community!

The CT Food Bank said it best, "As the old saying goes, she shoots, she scores. In this case, the Shoreline Sharks did more than play great games and exemplify the values of friendship and teamwork; they shot, and they scored when it comes to fighting hunger in our communities and for people who need it."

We acknowledge Steve, Frank, and Lou for allowing us to use the East Haven Rink as our collection site, Sophia Rodham and Jenna Guglielmi for initiating this awesome organization-wide service program four years ago, our U12 and U10 Black teams for posters and the kick-off video, Brent Aiken for his coordination efforts, and all the Sharks families for bringing bags and boxes of food to the rink.

Thanks for helping us make a difference; we took a bite out of hunger!
