Training Resources, Hockey Helps the Hungry Goes Virtual, U16-19 Green and White Season Ends...

Expect the Unexpected.

The eight-week pause in youth/high school sports is a bummer.  We know how much playing hockey means to our players’ sense of normalcy and provides an escape from the craziness of COVID.

Our girls arrived at the rink already in their gear, and we sat outside looking in, but we accepted that hockey with restrictions was MUCH better than no hockey at all. Despite vigilance and caution, the situation changed and proved that the only constant with COVID is uncertainty.

everything you want. This is the year to appreciate everything you have."

The great news is that there may be a goal light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccine. We don't know when or if there will be a return to normal, but we remain hopeful of returning to the ice in mid-January.  As Ed Rodham said in his recent email, we continue to adapt to the situation and work on contingency plans to extend the season.

Of course, we know this is much bigger than hockey, and the Governor's restrictions are not intended to crush our collective spirits but to keep us safe and save lives. This awareness doesn't make it any easier, but it provides perspective and reminds us of the positives of the pandemic -- the chance to slow down, connect with our families, and appreciate all that we do have.

As 2020 comes to a close, we feel grateful for the continued support and trust from our families, players, coaches, volunteers. Just like you, we're counting the days to get back in the rink and play hockey.

Stay positive, be safe, and we wish you a happy – and healthy -- new year!
