As we head into the upcoming season, we’re committed to delivering a competitive hockey experience focused on development and team success.
To help us achieve our goal, we’re excited to announce that Taylor Adolphson has accepted the position of Head Coach for our U16 and U19 Tier II national-bound teams. His focus is to provide a clear development progression plan that helps players advance to their next level of hockey and provides opportunities to continue with the sport outside of travel hockey.
About Taylor Adolphson
For the past six years, Taylor has dedicated his career to player development as an IPH instructor, sharing his experience and passion for hockey with hundreds of athletes through their clinics and one-on-one training. In past seasons, our travel players benefitted from the level of training he delivers at our dedicated skill sessions, which are fast-paced and filled with multidimensional drills that challenge players, building their hockey IQ.
This past season Taylor joined our program directly, serving as Head Coach for our U19 Tier II team. Overall, the team performed well in multiple tournaments and their NEGHL season. Additionally, we anticipate at least four graduating seniors from the team to play in college next season, demonstrating our continued success in helping players develop and play at higher levels.
Hockey has been the center of Taylor’s life. He played competitive youth hockey in Peterborough, New Hampshire, junior hockey with the Atlanta Junior Kings, and ACHA hockey at Keene State University. After college, he accepted his first coaching position with the Post University Men’s Hockey team before moving to IPH full-time.
We believe Taylor and the staff we are assembling with him will further our goals of player development on and off the ice as well as maintain the team success we’ve achieved since launching national-bound hockey in 2017.
Our Commitment to National Bound Hockey
In just the six years since starting our Tier II program, we’ve built a reputation for hockey excellence that includes 50+ boarding school placements, consistent participation in regional tournaments, an increasing number of college placements as our program matures, and the bragging rights to be the only girl’s organization (Tier I or Tier II) in Connecticut to win a National Championship title since 2012 (we’ve won two during that time).
Our national-bound teams (U14, U16, and U19 Tier II) play in the NEGHL (New England Girls Hockey League), which is the perfect forum to play against some of the best talent in the region, as well as the CHC (Connecticut Hockey Conference). The teams play a rigorous summer tournament and showcase schedule, which provides visibility with boarding school and college coaches. The robust practice and game schedule will be supported with dedicated IPH skill sessions, off-ice training with MB Sports, and dedicated goalie training through ProCrease Goaltending.
We anticipate great success for our players and teams under Taylor’s leadership and look forward to you joining us on that journey.
