Team wins U12 Tier II CHC State Championship Title and Competes in Regionals

Our U12 Black team won the CHC U12 Tier II Championships! They defeated the Mid Fairfield U12 Tier II team 3-2 in a competitive game.  They earned a spot in the New England District Regional Tournament which takes place March 22 - 25 at the Essex Sports Center in Massachusetts.

This team has worked hard during the season and shown tremendous player and team development.

According to Coach Karl Krauss, "Our team has been a great defensive group since day one of the season, but we struggled to find consistent offense and score goals.  We sparked up our goal scoring after the first dozen games..  A key turning point for us was the NGHL Futures tournament in NJ in January, where we went undefeated and scored 21 goals for and allowed three goals against. At that moment,  the team began to believe in their ability to compete and win."

At Regionals, the U12 Black team will face highly competitive teams, including the Hanover Wild, Casco Bay Mariners, and Charles River Blazers.  The team has continued practicing and scrimmaging in preparation for the upcoming tournament.

Regarding the outlook for Regionals, Krauss added, "This team has grit. In tough games, they don't give up; they continue to grind it out, fighting tooth and nail. It's also a really great bunch of girls who respect and support each other."

We're proud of our U12 Black and wish them luck in Regionals. As we always say, play hard and have fun!
