Summer Skills Program

2024 Summer Skills (U8 - U10)

We're excited to offer a summer hockey clinic for girls ages 6 - 10. The focus is skill development, helping players improve the basics - skating, shooting, passing, and stickhandling.

Coach Cait Bernick leads the clinic. She is the U10 and HDP coach this year. She played high school (Daniel Hand) and college hockey (Nichols College). Her coaching experience is extensive, working with various youth programs and serving as a high school assistant coach (Daniel Hand) and head coach at Gloucester High School in Massachusetts. She is joined by Marisa Berti, coach at West Haven Youth Hockey.

This clinic will be fun, challenging, and a great way to get some summer ice time! It is open to players outside of the Shoreline Sharks.

2024 Summer Skills Program (U12 - U19)

Rodham Hockey Skills, in collaboration with IPH Hockey, powers the tenth annual summer skills program. ProCrease will provide our goalie training. Over the years, the program has built a reputation for being one of the best in the state.

We've built a base skills program with add-ons for strength and conditioning through MB Sports. The sessions are timed considering the academic year, starting June 6 and ending August 20. This allows the girls to participate in spring and fall sports and begin and end the school year strong and with focus.

The sessions are focused exclusively on skill development (a much better investment than Spring hockey). We will limit participation to a specific number of players per group so the instructors can focus on teaching instead of running drills like a standard practice.  We have sold out all nine years, so please register today to reserve your spot.

Here are the details.

  • June 6 to August 20
  • Two (2) evenings per week at Northford Ice Pavilion. The sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays nights, primarily in the 5-9:00 PM window.
  • A progressive plan aimed at developing technical skating, shooting, puck handling, and overall hockey sense
  • Includes sessions run by guest instructors, including college and prep coaches, as well as a long list of female college players who join us for each session
  • IPH Hockey – IPH will be at every session.
  • Goalie training is provided by ProCrease.
  • Players are segmented by age and playing level.
  • Off-ice opportunity – players will receive a discount to work out with MB Sports training.

Cost

  • $1,150 for on-ice skills
  • MB Sports – pricing and packaging will be sent separately.

Payment Plan
There is no cost to register. To finalize your position in our program, we must receive a deposit. To make this easy, we have included a payment plan so you can spread your payments over multiple months. Here is the summer payment schedule for the Skills program;

  • Deposit - $250 (due May 5)
  • June 1 - $300
  • July 1 - $300
  • August 1 - $300

To make your payment, you have two options;

  • Venmo - @RHSkills
  • Send check to Ed Rodham
    • 27 Shorelands Drive/Madison, CT 06443

The number of touches/reps we can give the girls is significantly more than anything you will see in a camp or spring hockey game. The initial registration is free.
