Shoreline Sharks Connecticut Girls Hockey

Started in 2000, Shoreline Sharks Youth Hockey is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering developmental and competitive hockey programs for girls ages 4-19.  We are the largest girls' hockey program in Southern Connecticut, with over 250+ participants registered for last season.

Our core programs include travel teams at multiple competitive levels from development to experienced with our CT Girls Hockey League CGHL (U8 - U19) and national-bound Tier II (U14, U16 & U19). Our purpose is to grow the game by introducing and teaching hockey to beginners through our Learn to Play and Try Hockey for Free events.

We're passionate about girl's hockey and are proud of our development-first focus for all levels of play from girls new to the sport to nationally competitive players.

Learn to Play Hockey

    Welcome to the Sharks!

Our goal is to be the best player development program in the region. We’ve grown to be the largest girls-only youth hockey organization in Southern Connecticut, with over 200 registered participants, adding more programming opportunities for new and existing players, regardless of experience or level of competitiveness.

With back-to-back USA Hockey National Championship titles, an expansive tiered travel team structure, and one of the most robust Learn to Play programs in the region, we think we have something for everyone.  We’re proud of our 90% player retention rate and consistently positive feedback about our purpose, operational excellence, and impact on so many girls’ lives.

    Our program highlights include:

    • Strong, positive organizational culture grounded in principles and shared values
    • Player development-centric organization focused on helping each player reach their potential and next level of play
    • Absolute focus on growing the game through our Learn to Play Clinics, reaching girls of all ages (4 – 19)
    • Membership in multiple leagues (CGHL, CHC, and NEGHL) to achieve the ideal competitive balance for each team
    • Tiered travel team structure allows us to offer multiple teams (13 in total) at all age brackets (U8 - U19), optimizing growth and development at all levels of play
    • Extensive development opportunities outside of team practice, including a best-in-class goalie training program, in-season skill sessions, tournament opportunities, and pre-season camps
    • Top-tier coaching team using a consistent methodology that aligns with the USA Hockey American Development Model to optimize development
    • Champions of the girls’ hockey experience, giving access to female role models through our expanding number of female Sharks coaches or our partnerships with like-minded organizations like Pro Crease Goaltending or the QU Women’s Hockey Team.

We have a lot of momentum as a hockey organization with our accomplishments from last season, growth over recent years, and a distinctly positive culture. Welcome to the Shoreline Sharks!
